Hamilton Hill Food Processors is NOT just another foodservice company. Hamilton Hill Food Processors is an intensive training program combining hands-on food-service training with classroom instruction and job placement services for low income people and at risk youth.
A “full circle” is created when our students work hard to provide meals to those in need while transforming their lives and working towards their own
self-sufficiency.
Students learn valuable industry skills such as cooking techniques, knife skills, food safety and sanitation. Students also learn life & career skills such as resume building, interviewing, personal empowerment, teamwork, and communication.
Healthy Meals
Hamilton Hill Food Processors provides healthy and nutritious meals to childcare centers, Head Start programs, and homeless shelters 365 days per year thorought the year to New York State's Capital District.
Last year we served 32,000 healthy meals to low income children. For many of those children their only hot meals came from our kitchen.
In addition to being a cornerstone of our mission, our meal program serves as a valuable hands-on training opportunity for our students. Under the supervision of our skilled Chef Instructor, Hamilton Hill Food Processors’ students learn and hone their new skills as they prepare meals. This working classroom offers our students a chance to gain proficiency and confidence in the kitchen, while also learning about nutritional guidelines, safe food practices, and meal planning.
End Hunger
Hamilton Hill Food Processors is a project of Hunger Action Network of New York State.
The Hunger Action Network of New York State, founded in 1982, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to ending hunger and its root causes, including poverty, in New York State.
Hunger Action Network works to increase the amount of food today available to low-income New Yorkers through increased funding for Emergency Food Programs, promotion of federal nutrition programs, and by growing food. Hunger Action Network also works for long term solutions such as living wage jobs, access to education and training, and affordable healthcare.
